Job Description We are seeking an Executive Director for the Redlands Family YMCA, responsible for overseeing all operations of the branch, including program and membership development, marketing, facilities, volunteer and staff development, financial growth, grant management, government contracts (primarily ASES funded childcare), community relations, and partnerships. The ideal candidate must adapt to a dynamic environment and excel in an autonomous, growth-oriented workplace. Under the guidance of the President & CEO and the Association Strategic Plan, motivated leaders who embrace innovation and entrepreneurial spirit will thrive. The role involves community engagement and local decision-making within a decentralized leadership structure, emphasizing ownership and accountability. The branch operates with a $6.3M budget, 150 employees, and features a state-of-the-art facility with a 3-pool aquatics center, health and wellness areas, and a large gymnasium. Programs include health and wellness, youth sports, aquatics, day camp, youth circus, and childcare services. Qualifications Minimum of 6+ years in progressive leadership roles within the YMCA or similar non-profit, with experience in community relations, volunteer development, financial management, and grant management. Ability to relate to diverse community groups and top leaders is essential. Experience in managing a mix of fee-based and government funding is preferred. Essential Functions Lead and develop the branch management team and collaborate with facilities management. Manage the $6.3M budget to meet financial goals. Drive financial development, including annual campaigns and community fundraising. Develop engaging programs aligned with the mission. Oversee staff hiring, training, and supervision. Ensure facility safety and quality. Explore establishing a local volunteer advisory board and manage volunteer activities. Implement strategic planning and marketing strategies. Represent the YMCA in the community, building partnerships and collaborations. Participate in the YMCA Executive Leadership Team to support organizational goals. Leadership Competencies Mission Advancement: Promote YMCA values and develop volunteer leadership. Collaboration: Foster an inclusive environment and build strategic community relationships. Operational Effectiveness: Ensure strong decision-making, program execution, and financial controls. Personal Growth: Support a learning culture and navigate organizational challenges. Required Certifications Bachelor’s degree required; master’s preferred. YMCA Organizational Leader certificate required within three years of hire. YMCA leadership certification (e.g., Team Leader) preferred.
