Job Summary
The Design Manager is responsible for design management for the company with a primary focus on mitigation of design risk.
SALARY RANGE:
$140,000.00 - $180,000.00 annually (companywide)
Pay is based on a number of factors including market location.

A 401(k) savings plan under which BNB matches the first 3 percent of your deferral with a 100% match and the next two percent with a 50% match for a total matching contribution of 4% of your pay. You are immediately 100% vested in all contributions (including BNB match). We provide both traditional (pre-tax) and Roth (post-tax) contribution options. We are proud to be an employee-owned company. This means you get an ownership stake in BNB through a benefit called an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP). It's 100% company-funded and is invested in BNBuilders stock. You can participate in this long-term plan after you complete 1 year of service (with at least 1,000 hours). Vehicle/vehicle allowance, fuel card, and toll pass.
Job Responsibilities
Lead and oversee design management efforts with the company. Oversee design services (from pursuits and initial design through completion of construction) to ensure appropriate delivery of services and mitigate design risk. Oversee design document reviews for completeness and conformance with project requirements. Oversee the identification, engagement, and coordination of peer reviews for special systems where determined to be necessary. Oversee the coordination of design-assist, design-build, self-perform, and trade subcontractor participation with the design team to ensure timely input and preparation of trade documents, as necessary. Oversee the coordination of design with preparation of bid packages to support schedule and construction. Oversee contractual compliance reviews that shall identify deviations and assist in obtaining necessary approvals. Local and cross-regional travel may be required.
Qualifications
Minimum four-year bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field of study. Licensed Architect or Engineer preferred. LEED Accredited Professional (AP) preferred. 10-15 years of experience in design and construction.
Minimum 10 years of extensive experience working in all phases of design.
Minimum 5 years of design phase management experience. Experience with Design/Build delivery required.
Knowledge of Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) desired.
Proficient in CADD, Revit, SketchUp, Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Project.

Capable of traversing over construction-type terrain when under development; moving through the construction site and the materials in place for use on the site; climbing ladders and temporary stairways; conducting visual inspections of quality of construction and materials being used in construction. Conduct jobsite walks to ensure successful project completion. Conduct jobsite walks to identify and eliminate safety hazards.

The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at the job site. The noise level in the work environment and job site can be loud. This position is performed in outside weather conditions.
