Location: Prefer Foster City, but can be remote in the US
The R&D Sourcing Manager will be responsible for sourcing and contracting development organizations to support ***’s global Phase I–IV clinical trials, as well as other ad hoc projects within the Vendor Outsourcing department. This role will primarily focus on clinical ancillary services and systems used across development.
Familiarity with technology, systems, and software is a plus, as well as experience supporting Medical Affairs organization(s). The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of contracting frameworks and legal terms. They must be able to review contracts quickly, negotiate business terms, and support legal negotiations. Strong organizational skills are essential for cataloging terms and conditions in the contract database, and managing multiple sourcing and contracting negotiations simultaneously.
The R&D Sourcing Manager may support the full vendor selection lifecycle, including RFI/RFP processes, vendor evaluation and selection, contract negotiation, change order management, and agreement closeout. They will assist other Vendor Outsourcing staff in resolving moderately complex contract issues and, with support from internal stakeholders and Legal, help negotiate less complex or lower-value contracts.
Excellent communication skills are required, as the role involves regular interaction with internal and external stakeholders, including Clinical Operations, Finance, Legal, Business Conduct, Vendor Management, and Payments. The candidate must manage competing priorities effectively and work independently with minimal supervision.
