Job Description and Requirements
We Are:
At Synopsys, we drive the innovations that shape the way we live and connect. Our technology is central to the Era of Pervasive Intelligence, from self-driving cars to learning machines. We lead in chip design, verification, and IP integration, empowering the creation of high-performance silicon chips and software content. Join us to transform the future through continuous technological innovation.
You Are:
You are a passionate and innovative software developer driven by curiosity and a desire to solve complex real-world problems. With a strong background in Electro-Optical InfraRed (EO/IR) systems and a keen interest in simulation and mission modeling, you thrive in dynamic, collaborative environments where you can make a tangible impact. Your expertise in C++ and Visual Studio is complemented by a solid understanding of computer graphics, physics (especially radiometry), and mathematical principles. You have hands-on experience in the commercial software development lifecycle, ideally within aerospace and defense domains, and are comfortable working with advanced imaging systems, optics, and image processing.
Your approach to work is analytical and detail-oriented, always seeking out best practices and innovative solutions to technical challenges. You are a fast learner, eager to engage with subject matter experts and cross-functional teams, and value open communication and knowledge sharing. Your commitment to quality, reliability, and continuous improvement ensures that the products you help develop meet the highest standards. You are excited by the opportunity to support a globally recognized product like STK, contributing to projects that enable customers to achieve extraordinary feats, from satellite navigation to lunar exploration. Most importantly, you are motivated by a sense of purpose and a desire to be part of a company that values diversity, collaboration, and personal growth.
What You'll Be Doing: Contributing as a core member of the capability development team, designing, developing, testing, and documenting new features for the STK software platform. Investigating and resolving complex technical issues discovered by QA or product support, ensuring a robust and reliable user experience. Championing and implementing best practices in commercial software development, with a focus on maintainability, scalability, and performance. Working to reduce the backlog of existing bugs and driving architecture improvements for long-term product evolution. Collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams, including PhD-level experts in aerospace, imaging, radar, and related fields, to deliver innovative solutions. Engaging in continuous learning and knowledge sharing, staying up-to-date with advancements in EO/IR systems, simulation techniques, and software engineering methodologies. The Impact You Will Have:
Enhancing the capabilities and reliability of STK, a mission-critical tool used by thousands of organizations worldwide in aerospace, defense, and research. Enabling customers to solve complex challenges such as communication link analysis, mission planning, and celestial navigation. Accelerating the development of new features that expand the range of STK's applications, from Earth observation to deep space missions. Improving the user experience and confidence in STK through timely resolution of issues and proactive product improvements. Contributing to a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and knowledge sharing within the team and across the organization. Empowering future advancements in simulation and modeling that drive the next generation of aerospace and defense technologies. What You'll Need:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field with 2+ years of experience, or a Master's degree. Strong proficiency in C++ and experience with Visual Studio development environments. Solid understanding of computer graphics, physics (with an emphasis on radiometry), and mathematical modeling. Experience with the commercial software development lifecycle, including design, implementation, testing, and documentation. Familiarity with imaging systems, optics, detectors, electronics, and image processing techniques. Simulation experience, particularly in aerospace and defense applications, is highly desirable. Who You Are:
A collaborative team player who communicates effectively and values diverse perspectives. Analytical, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering high-quality work. Adaptable and eager to learn new technologies and methodologies quickly. Proactive in seeking feedback and continuously improving both technical and interpersonal skills. Motivated by curiosity, creativity, and a desire to make a real-world impact.
