We are currently seeking a R&D Intern for our Arizona location, conveniently situated approximately 10 minutes from Glendale, AZ. Days and hours are flexible, making this a great opportunity for a current student looking to gain hands-on experience in a production environment. Scope of Position: The R&D Intern will support the Research & Development team in the formulation, testing, and documentation of new and existing nutraceutical products. This role provides hands-on experience in a production and laboratory environment while contributing to innovation, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives. Principal Responsibilities: Assist in the development and testing of new dietary supplement formulations, including powders, capsules, tablets, and liquids. Conduct routine laboratory analyses (e.g., solubility, stability, organoleptic testing) under supervision. Support documentation of experimental results, batch records, and technical reports. Assist with raw material evaluations, ingredient research, and supplier comparisons. Help prepare samples for internal review, customer presentations, and stability studies. Collaborate with Quality, Production, and Regulatory teams to ensure compliance with GMP and FDA guidelines. Participate in continuous improvement projects related to efficiency, product quality, and innovation. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment. Competencies: Strong interest in nutraceuticals, dietary supplements, and product innovation. Basic understanding of laboratory procedures and good documentation practices. Detail-oriented with strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); experience with lab software is a plus. Supervisory Responsibility: There are no supervisory responsibilities with this position. Work Environment: Working 100% of the time in a manufacturing facility setting. Subject to noise from machinery used from time to time. Exposed to customer products when operating and testing machinery. Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Standing or walking for extended periods during testing and inspections. Frequent use of hands for operating laboratory instruments, measuring, and recording data. Lifting, carrying, or moving containers, equipment, or materials up to 30 lbs. Reaching, bending, or crouching to access equipment, materials, or storage areas. Wearing required PPE, such as lab coats, gloves, hairnets, masks, and safety glasses. Working near or handling raw materials, powders, and other ingredients in a controlled environment. Tolerance for exposure to temperature-controlled environments and potential allergens. Education and Experience: High School Diploma or Equivalent required. Recent graduate or currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related field .
