A&P Supervisor
is responsible for leading and guiding maintenance personnel to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant aircraft maintenance operations. Upholding Ascent Aviation’s core values of
Safety, Respect, Quality, and Results , this role ensures all work is performed in accordance with FAA regulations, technical data, and company policies. The A&P Supervisor evaluates schedules, estimates labor requirements, and adjusts procedures as needed to meet production demands while maintaining the highest standards of performance and accountability. As a 24/7 operation,
we have openings across all shifts, including days, evenings, weekends, and 12-hour schedules. Candidates must be flexible and willing to work any shift based on operational needs. DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Supervises and coordinates activities of workers, including assigning duties for maximum utilization of manpower, analyzing and resolving work problems, and maintaining effective communication to promote teamwork and cooperation. Ensures employees receive proper orientation and training, provides on-the-job instruction as necessary, and documents training in employee records. Conducts performance evaluations and makes recommendations to management regarding hires, promotions, transfers, discharges, and disciplinary measures. Interprets company policies, enforces safety regulations, ensures proper use of equipment, and upholds quality standards. Ensures that all work performed complies with applicable technical data, FAA regulations, and Ascent Aviation policies and procedures. Ensures that required paperwork is properly completed, signed, and compliant with regulations and procedures. Secures customer approval for original and revised estimates to accomplish maintenance on aircraft and components. Evaluates schedules, estimates work-hour requirements, and adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules. Reviews non-preplanned documents to identify tooling requirements and provides timely estimates for maintenance within scope of responsibility. Maintains time and production records. Supervises the dismantling of aircraft and ensures that valid job numbers, part numbers, and serial numbers are documented on all aircraft parts/components removed from aircraft in work. Directs activities to protect employees from harm, ensures all work is performed safely, and maintains safe working conditions. Marginal Job Functions In the absence of a Production Controller, monitors and controls work documents within assigned responsibility area according to policy. Coordinates with customers to obtain data relating to a project in work. Makes recommendations to management to improve productivity, increase efficiencies, or reduce costs. Performs the duties of the Project Manager in his/her absence.

Strong organizational, planning, and prioritization skills with attention to detail. Solid communication skills, including reading, writing, and following/verbal written instructions in English. Ability to supervise multiple projects and apply technical data effectively. Skilled in problem-solving, adapting to changing priorities, and remaining calm in emergencies. Basic knowledge of supervisory techniques and human behavior. Ability to operate a standard-shift vehicle and applicable equipment safely. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License required. Current valid Arizona driver’s license required. High School diploma or equivalent and Two years of education in Aviation Management or related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education, training, or experience preferred Five years of aircraft maintenance experience preferred, with prior supervisory experience.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time. Frequent bending, stooping, squatting, crouching, kneeling, balancing, and reaching above shoulder level Occasional crawling, climbing, lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling up to 50 lbs. unassisted. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity. Corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
EQUIPMENT OPERATED: Protective equipment required: Goggles, safety glasses, face shields, ear protection, apron, gloves, safety harness, breathing equipment.
WORKING CONDITIONS: The work location will include aircraft Maintenance hangars, the flightline, and Avionics shop. Potential hazards include exposure to high intensity noise levels, extreme changes in temperature, electrical charges and radar waves, materials identified on the Safety Data Sheets, and working around moving machinery. OTHER DUTIES:
May be required to work at both Marana, AZ and Tucson, AZ locations as business needs dictate. Additional duties may be assigned at the discretion of department management.
