Overview

WDJT-TV, Weigel Broadcasting’s CBS affiliate in Milwaukee Wisconsin, is looking for an Administrative Assistant to support the Vice President/General Manager. The ideal candidate must be incredibly organized with the ability to use independent judgment, work well under pressure, and adjust quickly to the fast pace of a television station. Must communicate professionally at all levels, verbal and written, fostering relationships with employees, management, clients, and vendors and be proficient in Word, Power Point and Excel. Requires a natural problem solver that is solution orientated with proven success in a professional support position.

Responsibilities

• Understand the GM’s schedule and priorities, proactively providing support and resources to maximize their time and effectiveness.
• Provide timely and accurate FCC reporting.
• Provide full-service travel coordination, researching, securing and communicating reservations, and following up throughout the process to create a smooth travel experience for station employees and guests.
• Plan, schedule, and host meetings by managing invites, securing resources, preparing space and ordering catering.
• Process expense reports and invoices.
• Manage tracking of station contracts.
• Organize distribution of station correspondence and gift items.
• Assist management team with purchase orders, departmental and station initiatives, and other support needs.
• Assist receptionist by greeting visitors, managing phones, mail, and supplies as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Incredibly organized with the ability to use independent judgment and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong professional communication skills at all levels, verbal and written.
• Proficient in Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
• Natural problem solver with a solutions-oriented approach and proven success in a professional support position.
