We are currently looking for a Site Excavation Heavy Equipment Operator (with CDL) to join our amazing team. Responsibilities

  • Site preparation, grading and access road construction
  • Drive, operate and maneuver heavy equipment
  • Operation of skid steers, backhoes, excavators, trenchers, and compaction equipment
  • Underground utility installation including power and fiber conduit
  • Place and compact subgrade for building and equipment foundations
  • Place forms and rebar for building and equipment foundations
  • Read and interpret grade stakes, site markings, maps, blueprints, and or drawings to move soil according to defined specifications
  • Utilize the appropriate and/or assigned construction machinery to safely, efficiently, and productively excavate, move, and grade soils in accordance with the defined parameters
  • Properly set up and utilize grade control devices to assist in reaching the defined grade tolerances
  • Knowledge of weight requirements of loads leaving the pit
  • Use and understand all safety requirements of excavations and trenches
  • Perform pre and post equipment checks and reports equipment issues to supervisors
  • When required, drive and maneuver equipment equipped with blades in successive passes over working areas to remove topsoil, vegetation, or rocks or to distribute and level earth or terrain
  • Work with Foreman, Division Lead, Superintendent, Project Manager, and team to ensure job is done to specifications
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Class A CDL with air brakes required
  • Knowledge of aggregate sizes and classifications
  • Knowledge of trenching and shoring standards
  • Proven experience as a site laborer
  • Having your own tools
  • Ability to operate heavy machinery such as backhoes, excavators, skid steers, etc.
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
  • Valid Driver License
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
