The Network Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and optimizing large-scale enterprise network infrastructure across LAN, WAN, Data Center, Cloud, and Wireless environments. The role focuses on ensuring high network availability, performance, and security while supporting research and integration of emerging technologies. The position requires strong analytical skills, hands-on technical expertise, and the ability to collaborate across teams to deliver reliable and scalable networking solutions.

Qualification and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Networking, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • 1–2 years of hands-on experience as a Network Engineer or Network Security Engineer in an enterprise or ISP environment.

Job Description

1. Network Design, Deployment, and Optimization

Support the design, deployment, and optimization of enterprise-grade networks, including LAN, WAN, Data Center, Cloud, and Wireless infrastructure.

Assist in developing and implementing network standards, architecture blueprints, and policies aligned with business and security requirements.

Participate in capacity planning, resilience testing, and continuous network improvement initiatives.

2. Troubleshooting and Problem Resolution

Troubleshoot and resolve complex Layer 2/Layer 3 (L2/L3) network issues in multi-vendor environments (Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, Checkpoint, Fortinet, etc.).

Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and develop permanent solutions to eliminate recurring network incidents.

Collaborate with vendors and internal teams for escalation and resolution of advanced networking issues.

3. Network Security and Integration

Work closely with security and cloud teams to ensure secure, compliant, and seamless integration of firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and cloud connectivity solutions.

Support configuration and management of next-generation firewalls (Cisco ASA, Palo Alto, Checkpoint, FortiGate).

Ensure adherence to NRB, ISO, and internal IT security standards.

4. Research and Innovation

Conduct in-depth research on emerging networking solutions, trends, and best practices to strengthen enterprise infrastructure.

Contribute to network automation and scripting initiatives using Python, Ansible, or Bash for configuration and monitoring efficiency.

Evaluate new technologies and prepare detailed research and recommendation reports for senior management.

5. Documentation and Collaboration

Maintain comprehensive documentation of network topology, configurations, incidents, and change management activities.

Prepare technical reports, design documents, and RCA summaries for management and stakeholders.

Collaborate cross-functionally with infrastructure, DevOps, cloud, and cybersecurity teams to ensure reliable network operations.

Required Skills

  • Strong understanding of routing and switching protocols (BGP, OSPF, STP).
  • Expertise in VLANs, trunking, subnetting, NAT, ACLs, QoS.
  • Solid knowledge of network security principles including firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and segmentation.
  • Exposure to cloud networking (AWS, VPC, hybrid connectivity).
  • Familiarity with network automation tools (Python, Ansible, Bash).
  • Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills under high-pressure environments.
  • Experience with Cisco ASA, Palo Alto, Checkpoint, and FortiGate firewalls.
  • Knowledge of Python, Bash, or PowerShell scripting for automation and configuration management.
  • Understanding of AWS cloud networking and security groups.
  • Familiarity with network monitoring/observability tools such as Zabbix, Wireshark, or SolarWinds.
  • Strong documentation and cross-team communication skills.
