Position

The Chief Accounting/Financial Officer (CAO/CFO) is a key member of the executive leadership team, reporting directly to the CEO. The CAO/CFO will oversee all financial operations, drive strategic financial planning, and ensure fiscal stability for the company’s residential and mixed-use development projects. This role requires an executive leader with deep expertise in real estate finance, fundraising, and mixed-use development to support the company’s growth objectives in a fast-paced, faith-driven environment. Responsibilities

Financial Strategy and Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive financial strategies to support the company’s growth in residential single-family and mixed-use town center developments. Lead long-term financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow modeling to ensure fiscal sustainability and alignment with strategic goals. Collaborate with the CEO and executive team to establish long-range financial objectives, strategies, and policies for residential and mixed-use projects. Prepare detailed offering memoranda and packages for equity partners and lenders to support acquisitions and development initiatives. Manage relationships with lenders, equity partners, and brokers to optimize capital structures and minimize financing costs. Financial Oversight and Reporting: Oversee all financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, auditing, and financial reporting, ensuring compliance with GAAP and industry regulations. Prepare and communicate accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to the executive team, board of directors, and stakeholders. Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting. Project Underwriting and Analysis: Lead the underwriting process for residential single-family and mixed-use town center developments, including due diligence, feasibility analysis, and valuation. Develop and review cash flow models, investment analyses, and financial projections for proposed developments and acquisitions. Assess and mitigate financial risks associated with mixed-use projects, including market fluctuations and regulatory changes. Leadership and Team Development: Direct and mentor the finance and accounting team, fostering professional development and ensuring high performance in a collaborative, family-oriented environment. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including development, construction, and property management, to align financial goals with operational objectives. Act as a strategic partner to the CEO, contributing to key decisions on acquisitions, partnerships, and project financing. Mixed-Use Town Center Expertise: Provide financial leadership for the mixed-use town center component, ensuring a balanced integration of residential, commercial, and recreational spaces to promote social interaction and community engagement. Monitor and optimize the financial performance of mixed-use assets, including retail and commercial leasing, to maximize returns. Ensure compliance with zoning regulations and mixed-use development standards, coordinating with local authorities and stakeholders as needed. Risk Management and Tax Compliance: Develop and implement risk management strategies to mitigate financial exposure in development projects. Ensure compliance with financial regulations, tax requirements, and industry best practices. Oversee audits and coordinate with external auditors to maintain transparency and accuracy in financial reporting. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; CPA required; MBA or CFA preferred. 10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, with at least 5 years in a senior financial role within real estate development or investment, preferably in residential and mixed-use projects. Proven track record in raising debt and equity financing for real estate developments, with a strong network in banking and investment communities. Extensive experience in underwriting, financial modeling, and cash flow analysis for residential and mixed-use developments. Advanced proficiency in financial software, Argus, Microsoft Excel, and PowerPoint. Strong understanding of mixed-use zoning, development regulations, and market trends in residential and commercial real estate. Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders in a faith-based, values-driven organization. Results-oriented, entrepreneurial mindset with strong multitasking abilities to manage multiple projects at various stages.
