Boeing Learning and Development (L&D) is looking for a
Learning and Development Systems Manager
to integrate Engineering Business Requirements into Learning Systems, Tools, and Trainings. We are seeking a candidate with a unique background in both Engineering and Learning, with experience managing updates to large‑scale, information systems. This is a multifaceted role so the ideal candidate would have extensive knowledge and experience in the Engineering, Human Resources and Learning domains. This position can be located in
Seattle, WA or Berkeley, MO .
The ideal candidate should be able to work in a complex and fast‑paced environment and has excellent training development, project management and communication skills. This Learning Systems Manager will be responsible for program execution, managing the scope, schedule, budget, and risks associated with complex projects. Successful candidates are collaborators who effectively create, prioritize and deploy training programs based on team and business need. This Learning Systems Manager will also have responsibility for overseeing the product lifecycle for the trainings that reside in the Engineering space.
This leader will partner with the business to develop and communicate an L&D portfolio strategy that aligns with business objectives, identifies trends and opportunities for growth, and creates measurement, metrics and performance tools to drive portfolio insight. Successful candidates are collaborators with the ability to translate raw data into executive format. The role demands excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong presentation skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and related program software.
Position Responsibilities
Manages employees performing activities to research, design, develop, implement/deliver and maintain processes, tools and training to facilitate employee development
Lead a team of technical experts who build training programs for engineering systems
Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals
Acquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements
Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports
Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes
Manages, develops and motivates employees
Lead, develop, coordinate, integrate, analyze, and manage complex programs from initiation through completion, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives
Collaborates with subject matter experts and stakeholders to identify training needs and create learning objectives
Establishes learning strategies and architectures and defines project scope
Deploys development tools and monitors implementation
Oversees curriculum development and reviews course content and instructional materials. Researches and identifies new technologies and methodologies
Oversees performance analysis and development of improvement recommendations and establishes performance analysis tools and process
Basic Qualifications
5+ years of experience communicating with and presenting to senior and executive leadership
5+ years of experience working in and/or with Engineering/IT teams
5+ years of experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
5+ years of experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Teams
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering or other technical expertise
Experience working with Engineering Systems and/or IT systems (ex. Catia)
Proficiency in instructional design methodologies and adult learning principles
Ability to effectively partner with Business Stakeholders and Executive Management
Experience with curriculum development and content and instructional materials
