Job Description The Cyber Systems Security Engineer Staff will be responsible for leading a team of fellow engineers in the designing, assembly, integration, and maintenance of a Ground Control Station (GCS) and accompanying System Integration Lab (SIL). This includes network planning, hardware installation, software integration support, verification, and validation of system functionality.

In addition to designing and building the GCS and SIL the applicant will be responsible for ensuring the SIL and GCS are NIST/RMF/JSIG compliant and assist in the submitting of an ATO package.

Other key responsibilities include:

Solving complex problems associated with both the hardware and software systems.

Performing modification and maintenance of system drawings (network architecture, layout, cable drawings, rack drawings).

Performing and managing system integration, testing, and troubleshooting of various hardware/software configurations.

Installing and managing equipment in server racks and updating the inventory.

Establishing Hardware‑In‑The‑Loop (HWIL)/Closed‑Loop development and testing in the Systems Integration Lab (SIL).

Participating in technical exchange meetings, interfacing with customers (internal/external), and contributing to a broad range of program deliverables.

Integrating hardware from sub‑system teams, interfacing with other elements, and supporting the system and segment level teams.

Applying engineering principles to design components and systems using applicable standards and specifications.

Maintaining design documentation and following configuration management requirements.

Basic Qualifications

DoD 8570 IAT Level II certificate such as CompTIA Security+, CySA, CCNA Security, SSCP, or GSEC.

Experience in IT such as networking technologies and virtualized environments.

Experience with Windows Server and Red Hat Enterprise Linux System Administration.

Desired Skills

Analytical thinker with a demonstrated ability to solve complex problems requiring ingenuity and innovation.

Mentoring junior‑level team members.

Cisco CCNA, and/or CCNP certification or equivalent.

Red Hat Certified System Administrator or Linux+ certification or equivalent.

Experience with networking technologies such as IGMP/multicast, OSPF, EIGRP, SNMP.

Experience with virtualized environments using VMware vSphere.

Experience with network troubleshooting tools such as Wireshark/NPcap.

Familiarity with Cisco networking equipment, Dell/HP storage solutions and servers.

Familiarity with embedded systems such as ASIC or FPGA based computing.

Strong technical understanding of architecture, design and security principles.

Experience with RF design and troubleshooting.

Experience with engineering tools such as Cameo and 3DX.

Experience reading electrical drawings.

Experience performing trade studies on potential technical solutions.

Experience with Git, Ansible, and basic shell scripting.

Experience curating documentation and SOPs.

Work Schedule Information Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five‑day work week while others may be condensed.

National Pay Statement The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $118,700 – $209,300. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location.

Premium Pay Statement The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $136,500 – $236,555. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location.
