The County has over 20 Departments, including some that provide unique services such as the Airport (general aviation), Port Inlet & Beaches, and Tourism & Venues. The County has 924 Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) employees and a recommended FY2026 Total Budget of $883 million, which includes a General Fund of $274 million and a Capital Fund of $161 million. The County Attorney’s Office has a total of 38 staff members, comprised of 10 in Legal and 28 in the Criminal Justice Division, which reports to the County Attorney.
Requirements
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from an accredited college of law.
At least ten (10) years of progressively responsible legal experience, with five (5) years in government law and civil practice.
Minimum of five (5) years supervising attorneys.
Preferred candidates will have legal experience in growth management, land use or exposure to land use law, as well as expertise in environmental, contractual, employment, historic preservation, public utilities law, and experience working for a fast-growth community.
Salary and Benefits The starting salary is negotiable, depending on qualifications, and is accompanied by a competitive benefits package.
