Staff Attorney (Housing Unit) Responsibilities
Provide direct legal representation and advice to clients of CAMBA Legal Services. Litigate cases in housing court, administrative forums, and other state courts on behalf of people facing eviction or other housing threats. Regularly appear in court, advocate persuasively for clients, conduct interviews, draft motions, prepare for trial, and negotiate settlements. Minimum Education / Experience
Juris Doctorate. Admission to the New York State Bar, or eligibility to practice under the Judiciary Law and the current Student Practice Order (including requirements for passing NYS Bar examinations as described). Other Requirements
Knowledge of, and experience in, foreclosure and housing law (preferred). Demonstrated commitment to poverty law and social‑justice work. Excellent analytical, writing, and communication skills; ability to multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment; strong organizational abilities. Ability to converse with clients in a language other than English (e.g., Haitian/Creole, Arabic, Spanish, Russian) is preferred. Compensation
$84,000‑134,254 annually When salary ranges are listed, the range represents the low and high end for the applicable position and program. The offered salary is based on experience, education, budget, internal equity, skills, and other relevant factors. Benefits
