Market Access is a key commercial function that ensures transformative Vertex therapies are appropriately funded and ultimately make it into the hands of the patients around the world. The Global Value & Access Strategy (GVAS) team works cross-functionally and across regions to ensure the payer view is represented in commercial and development plans across the lifecycle. We are driven by a desire to deliver groundbreaking pricing & reimbursement solutions to allow our medicines to reach patients faster than ever before. The Director, Cell & Gene therapy (CGT) role will focus on the Vertex Hemoglobinopathies and T1D portfolios. For T1D, the individual will ensure global access launch readiness for ZIMISLECEL and contribute to lifecycle management initiatives as well as optimization of global access for T1D assets in development. For CASGEVY, the role will support ongoing regional reimbursement as well as lifecycle management. The role reports to Sr. Director, GVA CGT Lead. Key Responsibilities

Co-lead Heme Global Commercial Team and T1D Global Commercial Team (with Global Commercial Strategy) and work cross-functionally and cross-regionally to develop and formulate global commercial strategic recommendations with aligned commercial input. The Global Commercial Team facilitates development of a commercial strategy to maximize the lifetime value of the asset globally, and is the primary hub for alignment and input into the Disease Strategy Team. Develop the core payer branded message platform for zimislecel in alignment with cross-functional initiatives Develop high-quality payer value communication materials to support NA and Intl. P&MA launch of zimislecel (including branded payer value narrative, rollout and training, price messaging, pricing objection handler) Develop payment model options and support global pricing policy for global launch of zimislecel Provide high-quality input to global evidence generation strategies in collaboration with cross-functional partners to ensure that access is optimized globally Ensure T1D LCM initiatives are optimized for access including zimislecel label expansions, VXc-017 development, and novel immunosuppression and hypoimmune assets Represent GVAS on cross-functional zimislecel operating teams and workstreams as relevant (e.g. zimislecel PT) Support P&MA capability building and thought leadership projects that advance knowledge of and readiness for the rapidly evolving Global payer environment Maintain industry awareness and proactively address changes in market trends, competition, product acceptance and new product releases and adjust Market Access plans accordingly Heme

Responsible for Global payer strategic planning to support value and access optimization across label expansions (e.g. pediatrics, improved conditioning) and other life cycle management considerations for CASGEVY Lead global P&MA readiness for Casgevy pediatric expansion (including updated payer value communication materials, input to evidence generation initiatives, and updated P&MA strategy) Support and ensure payer perspective is embedded in ongoing LCM initiatives including input into development strategy, evidence generation and commercialization priorities. Support ongoing reimbursement/renegotiations for CASGEVY, including negotiation strategy and financial considerations as well as identification and prioritization of evidence required to optimize and sustain value over time Qualifications

8 years of direct biotechnology / pharmaceutical industry experience and/or payer experience Deep working knowledge of both US and ex-US healthcare systems required; experience in comparable Global role considered a plus Experience in specialty and/or rare disease access models preferred Experience in leading cross-functional teams required Demonstrated ability to think strategically and make sound pricing and market access recommendations Entrepreneurial, energetic, dynamic, enthusiastic, decisive, and self-motivated; possesses a sense of urgency with the ability and strong desire to “make things happen” Strong practical, quantitative and analytical skills combined with a sound understanding of how to successfully apply pricing & reimbursement / HEOR principles to support Vertex General experience in commercialization and drug development Exhibits outstanding written and oral communication skills, including the ability to effectively write and deliver presentations to professionals at all levels within Vertex Demonstrated relationship building at all levels of the organization and across geographies Recognized as a team player with excellent interpersonal skills who is flexible and reliable Displays sound ethics and a fit for Vertex’s core values Education

BA/BS in field of study requiring quantitative analysis; advanced degree preferred Pay Range

$201,200 – $301,800 Disclosure Statement

The range provided is based on what we believe is a reasonable estimate for the base salary pay range for this job at the time of posting. This role is eligible for an annual bonus and annual equity awards. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay, in accordance with federal and state requirements. Actual base salary pay will be based on a number of factors, including skills, competencies, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
