SUMMARY Genetix Biotherapeutics' Market Access, Advocacy + Policy (MAAP) team is dedicated to helping patients access our innovative gene therapies. We're seeking a mission-driven

Head of Field Payer Team

to lead the strategic direction and execution of all payer engagement and access initiatives to ensure timely and sustained reimbursement for the company’s gene therapy portfolio. This leader will oversee a team of National Account Executives responsible for engaging commercial and government payers, executing innovative value-based agreements, and partnering with treatment centers to streamline access pathways. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in payer strategy, contracting, and field leadership within specialty or gene therapy markets, coupled with a passion for ensuring patients can access transformative, one-time treatments.

RESPOSIBILITIES

Leading, partnering with and coaching a team of skilled Account Executives for Genetix’s Qualified Treatment Center (QTC) network and national / regional payers for all account-level market access related activities and trends

Maintaining and building upon Genetix’s commitment to collaborate with payers and related key stakeholders to utilize innovative access offerings that reflect the comprehensive value proposition that our gene therapies offer patients, their caregivers, and the healthcare system

Being a dynamic member of Market Access leadership that communicates and collaborates with internal stakeholders regarding payor insights, trends, and competitive intelligence and access feedback to align on business recommendations and team needs to achieve desired results

Leading and driving departmental and cross-functional integration for external engagement and other field team activities across the market access and commercialization teams, including Sales, Patient Services, Channel Strategy & Operations, Contracting and Legal

Sustaining an environment of QTC payer engagement excellence, including but not limited to the implementation and refinement of account team metrics to assess impact of strategy and tactics

Executing business in accordance with ethical, legal, and compliance standards

QUALIFICATIONS

10+ years of relevant account management, market access or sales experience in the biotech/pharma field

Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred in a relevant field (pharmacy, science, business or finance)

Deep expertise in US payer dynamics and systems and the PBM and broader access environment for cell and gene therapy, orphan, and limited distribution networks preferred

Proven leadership, especially of remote/field-based employees, including implementation of customer engagement, market access and/or development strategies

Deep knowledge of and existing relationships with top US payers and/or relevant treatment centers and experience interacting across State Medicaid Agencies, Commercial Health Plans, PBMs, Specialty Pharmacies, health systems, and/or integrated delivery networks (IDNs)

Experience negotiating and implementing outcomes-based and/or other alternative payment models preferred

Excellent analytical, problem solving, written and verbal communication skills

Demonstrated ability to navigate challenges and create solutions in a complex payer and reimbursement environment; financial knowledge including resource allocation, budget management and reporting preferred

Demonstrated leadership experience within a cross-functional matrix environment and ability to build strong relationships
