About Multiply Labs Multiply Labs is a cutting-edge startup based in San Francisco, California, supported by top-tier tech and life science investors such as Casdin Capital, Lux Capital, and Y Combinator. We are revolutionizing the manufacturing of cell therapies by developing advanced robotic systems designed to automate and scale the production of these life-saving treatments. Our robots empower biopharma companies to produce cell therapies at scale without significantly changing their existing processes, reducing regulatory barriers and risks. While traditional approaches are time-consuming and lead to extremely high costs for patients (typically $1M+ per patient), using robotics can make these transformative treatments more accessible and affordable to patients in need. As a Staff Mechanical Engineer in the Multiply Labs team, you will apply your engineering expertise and technical leadership skills to design complex automated machinery involved in the manufacturing of novel pharmaceutical products. You’ll be working directly with a cross functional hardware and software team on designing and building the current and next generations of Multiply Labs’ robotic systems. This ranges across designing and selecting robotic equipment, determining high level design goals and objectives, building prototypes and taking them to production. You’ll succeed in the role if you can optimize design using first principle engineering approaches. We have a mix of projects running simultaneously. You will need great documentation skills and ability to organize thoughts and ideas into actions in order to drive decision making conversations on major projects while coordinating with colleagues.
