GENERAL SUMMARY:

This is a salaried position in Manteno, IL that reports to the VP of HR. The HR Manager will lead & direct the routine functions of the Human Resources (HR) department including hiring & interviewing staff, administering pay, benefits, & leave, & enforcing company policies & practices. Responsibilities

Recruits, interviews, hires, & trains new staff in the department. Oversees the daily workflow of the department. Provides constructive & timely performance evaluations. Handles discipline & termination of employees in accordance with company policy. Assists with the VP of Human Resources to understand & execute the organization’s human resource & talent strategy particularly as it relates to current & future talent needs, recruiting, retention, & succession planning. Provides support & guidance to HR generalists, management, & other staff when complex, specialized, & sensitive questions & issues arise; may be required to administer & execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, & terminations. Manages the talent acquisition process, which may include recruitment, interviewing, & hiring of qualified job applicants, particularly for managerial, exempt, & professional roles; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills & competencies required for openings. Responsible for monitoring all tasks necessary to accomplish the organization’s payroll processing to ensure completion on a timely manner & compliance. Conduct annual employee performance reviews to assess their competency, knowledge, & contribution. Creates learning & development programs & initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees. Oversees employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, & investigations. Assists to enhance &/or develop, implement, & enforce the human resource information systems database & provides necessary reports for critical analyses of the HR function & the people resources of the organization. Maintains compliance with federal, state, & local employment laws & regulations, & recommended best practices; reviews policies & practices to maintain compliance. Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, & new technologies in human resources, talent management, & employment law. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications

REQUIRED: B.S. Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required; or a minimum of 5-7 years’ related experience; or equivalent combination of education & experience. Excellent verbal & written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, & conflict resolution skills. Excellent organizational skills & attention to detail. Strong analytical & problem-solving skills. Ability to prioritize tasks & to delegate them when appropriate. Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, & confidentiality. Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws & regulations. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS & talent management systems. Desired

Bilingual Spanish Business Acumen. SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP highly desired.
