Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a Med Surg RN for a 13-week travel assignment in San Jose, California. This role involves delivering comprehensive, high-quality, patient-centered care in medical-surgical and telemetry units, with competitive pay, comprehensive benefits, and strong clinical team support. One year of recent Med Surg RN experience Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations Current BLS (AHA/ARC) Certification Preferred Qualifications
NIHSS certification ACLS (AHA/ARC) certification Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position Essential Skills
Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills Ability to read, write, and communicate in English Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills Physical abilities to remain stationary, move equipment (50-100 lbs), push, pull, and bend Interpersonal skills to work effectively with a variety of personnel Technical/motor skills to assist with procedures and operate department equipment Mental requirements to handle deadlines under pressure and adapt to varying schedules Sensory: visual acuity and clear communication abilities Responsibilities / Essential Functions
Explain procedures and treatments to patients and families, addressing concerns and ensuring understanding Administer prescribed medications and treatments per nursing standards Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients’ conditions, document changes, and report concerns Prepare patients for diagnostic procedures, assist physicians during treatments, and monitor patient responses Maintain a safe and comfortable environment for patients recovering from medical conditions or surgery Document patient information, including vital signs, medications, treatments, and care outcomes in the medical record Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to create and implement individualized care plans Manage multiple patients, prioritizing care based on acuity Ensure infection control practices, including hand hygiene and PPE use Advocate for patients’ needs and preferences within the care plan Facilitate discharge planning and coordinate with patients, families, and external resources Perform other duties as assigned within scope of practice Adhere to hospital safety protocols and regulatory standards Benefits Include
