Overview
The Multimedia Specialist will work independently as well as within the University’s Marketing and Communications department to develop and implement strategic digital content for a variety of University audiences including, but not limited to, prospective students and families, current students, alumni, donors and faculty/staff. This position requires creativity, critical thinking skills, knowledge of design software and the ability to work independently.
The Multimedia Specialist will contribute to Husson University’s creative expression by producing content that both inspires and engages stakeholders as well as supports institutional and presidential priorities. This role works specifically from conception to completion on digital media creative – both static and animated – for paid campaigns, videography/photography and assists with the design and production of marketing materials including brochures, flyers, posters, ads, presentations, and digital graphics that all elevates awareness, perception, influence, engagement and support of the University.
Responsibilities
Collaboration & Team Integration: Partner with Admissions, Advancement, Athletics and Academic departments to create content that showcases Husson’s strengths. Effectively communicate ideas and contribute to the marketing process. Support colleagues across the Marketing and Communications team. Collaborate effectively with a wide range of individuals across campus. Provide excellent customer service to Husson University clients. Manage design requests and production schedules to ensure timely delivery.
Brand Stewardship & Quality Control: Demonstrate a high level of knowledge and commitment to design, marketing/design strategies and brand alignment as well as an ability to apply visual themes as part of the development of all content so that materials look like they belong to the same organization. Translate strategic goals into engaging creative deliverables that align with Husson’s brand. Uphold Husson’s design and visual identity standards across all media. Collaborate with marketing team to align creative content with enrollment campaigns and social strategies. Manage project requests, timelines and deliverables and communicates on project status and outcomes.
Photography, Videography and Design: Supports photography, video production, and graphic design needs of the University through the development of creative content across channels (web, email, social media, print, video). Lead the video creation process for all University video content, ensuring timely and high-quality deliverables. Handle editing and post-production, ensuring final outputs meet brand standards. Build a library of photo and video assets for use across campaigns and platforms. Collect, develop and manage visual media, including photography, video, graphics and branded templates, ensuring alignment with Husson brand standards.
Other Skills/Duties: Work with advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite software, with emphasis in InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator. Experience with After Effects and motion graphics; Adobe Animate or other HTML5 animation software or video editing software such as Adobe Premiere given preference. Stays current with industry best practices in digital marketing, higher education communications, and audience engagement. Work independently within a project management system and possess strong project management and organizational skills. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required. Other projects or responsibilities that may be assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, graphic design, video or multimedia required.
Two years of experience working in marketing/communications field is required. Experience working in a higher education setting preferred.
Experience with photography, videography, and editing as well as creative design, digital content, or multimedia production (higher education experience a plus).
Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, After Effects).
Experience in social media marketing is a plus.
Strong understanding of project management principles and experience using project management tools.
Ability to balance multiple projects at the same time and can make decisions in a fast-paced environment, working across multiple projects and deadlines.
Be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Have excellent written and oral communication skills.
Attention to detail, good judgment, and mature decision-making abilities are required.
