About The Role The Corporate Communications Manager will lead the development and execution of comprehensive communication strategies that enhance the company’s brand reputation and internal engagement within the manufacturing sector. This role is pivotal in crafting clear, consistent messaging that aligns with corporate objectives and resonates with diverse stakeholders including employees, media, and industry partners. The manager will oversee internal communication initiatives to foster a cohesive and informed workforce, while also managing external media relations to promote positive public perception. Additionally, the role involves strategic media buying and branding efforts to maximize outreach and impact across multiple channels. Ultimately, the Corporate Communications Manager will serve as a key driver in positioning the company as a leader in its industry through effective storytelling and communication excellence.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required – Marketing, Communications, or Public Relations; (MBA/advanced degree preferred)
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Marketing, Communications, PR or similar field, preferably in a manufacturing or B2B setting, with demonstrated leadership roles
Minimum of 3+ years’ of prior direct report and external vendor management experience required
Demonstrated ability to create and develop coherent, memorable, high-impact global messaging and branding that expresses the vision and core values of the company to a range of audiences
Demonstrated ability to create a unified portfolio of work and execute global marketing communications programs across multiple media platforms for different target audiences
Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects and relate to multiple diverse global stakeholders across all levels of the organization
Self-directed, proactive and strategic thinker who can connect strategy to tactical execution
Ability to work independently and use sound judgment in decision making, including setting and managing priorities and meeting competing deadlines
Excellent writing and copyediting skills
Strong creative problem solving, interpersonal and collaboration skills
Demonstrated experience leading and developing digital marketing and related technology initiatives; knowledge of content management systems required
Demonstrated experience managing budgets
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelors in communications, Business Administration, or related discipline
Experience designing and managing corporate websites and digital content
Familiarity with white paper development and technical writing
Proficiency in communication analytics tools and platforms
Previous experience working in a global or multi-site manufacturing environment
Responsibilities Marketing Communications
Lead, develop and manage external marketing communications programs to support global business platforms and NPIs. Includes PR, event management, content marketing, thought leadership/technical editorial, advertising, search engine marketing, social media, and other digital media
Manage the continued development of www.emeryoleo.com corporate website
Formalize corporate brand guidelines and oversee compliance for global consistency
Internal Communications
Develop and manage regular internal communications to Cincinnati site employees through appropriate methods
Manage FRIDAY Intranet, including global news postings when appropriate
Craft and disseminate CEO and Executive Management communications as needed
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)
Build company awareness and goodwill in communities surrounding the Cincinnati, OH site through identification, evaluation and selection of relevant charitable donation opportunities, organization of group/volunteer activities, etc. Includes managing creation and dissemination of appropriate PR
Act as media point of contact for external Crisis Communications as needed, including creation and dissemination of appropriate PR
Support creation of annual Sustainability Report including creation of relevant global business platform, plant and CSR content
Working Conditions
Working Hours/Environment – 8:00am-5pm in an office at the Cincinnati site
Crisis Communications activities may require work before and after regular hours
Tools and Equipment Used – Microsoft Office programs, SharePoint CMS
Travel – Some domestic and international travel may be required, less than 5%
Physical & Mental Demands – May require occasional light lifting of less than 50 lbs. related to event management and CSR
Ability to multi-task, work with a diverse global group of cross-functional employees and external vendors and meet hard deadlines
