VTG is seeking a

Senior Test & Evaluation Engineer

in Washington, DC (near Navy Yard) to provide Engineering Support Services to Engineers and Subject Matter Experts in support of the Conventional Prompt Strike (CPS) Program under the Department of Navy.

Position is hybrid, onsite with occasional telework each week.

The candidate will support multiple engineering disciplines including Mechanical, Electrical, Systems, Information Systems, Navigation, Flight Software, Industrial, Re‑entry hardware and Flight Termination Systems, providing strategic support to the engineering team and leadership. What will you do?

Describe the System Engineering “V” model and its relationship between development and testing phases. Understand the purpose of System Engineering Technical Review (SETR) series. Understand the purpose of the Test & Evaluation Master Plan (TEMP) or Master Test Strategy (MTS). Provide technical support for hardware testing, software testing, modeling and simulation, and flight‑testing. Assist in development of TEMP, modeling and simulation verification, validation and accreditation plans, systems requirements verification plans, safety packages, and test planning briefing packages. Support the entire test cycle from planning, security, execution, analysis, and reporting. Support component testing for flight systems, platform systems and integration testing. Support subsystem and system‑level testing and develop/execute capability validation plans, reporting program phase and status toward Weapon System Requirements. Provide test engineering services for government test events, oversee contractor developmental testing, and conduct assessments; access to Threat and Engineering data classified up to TS/SCI may be required. Prepare studies, plans, and analysis in support of government test and engineering efforts. Deliver monthly reports, including Scientific and Technical Reports, Technical Reports‑Study‑Services, and revisions to existing government documents. Required Skills

Must have one of the following:

a) A bachelor's degree in a relevant field and 11 years of professional/internship engineering experience, OR b) A master's degree in a relevant field and at least 10 years of professional experience.

Active Secret clearance with ability to sustain Top Secret/SCI access. U.S. citizenship. Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word). Experience with AutoCAD for engineering designs and architecture. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Strong critical‑thinking skills to analyze information, identify biases, evaluate evidence and tolerate ambiguity. Experience with one or more of the following: Computational Fluid Dynamics for high‑speed aerodynamic flows, Finite Element Analysis and solid mechanics, Fluid‑Structure Interaction, Flight dynamics and trajectory calculations (6DoF), Ballistics, Penetration mechanics, Combustion and Thermodynamics. Willingness to travel up to 25 % within the CONUS. Preferred Skills

Understanding of engineering disciplines such as Electrical and Mechanical Design, Navigation, Guidance and Control, Telemetry and Instrumentation, Flight Software, Re‑entry Hardware, Flight Termination Systems, Requirement Definition, Allocation and Verification, Mechanical/Electrical/Software Interfaces. Navy weapons and engineering experience. DAWIA, INCOSE or similar certification is a plus. Pay Range

VTG’s estimated starting pay range is $140,000‑$190,000 annually. When extending an offer, VTG also considers work experience, education, skill level, market considerations and may include contractual requirements which could affect the final offer. Seniority level
