This role reports to the Executive Director of Global Medical Affairs Technology and is responsible for driving delivery of technologies and platforms to meet Medical Affairs customer relationship and performance measurement needs. The position partners with Medical Affairs Excellence, Medical Affairs Affiliate leaders, Global Medical Strategy and Operations Leaders and the IT organization to implement technology solutions. The successful candidate will advise internal stakeholders on enabling business capabilities with enterprise technology tools, align tools to performance expectations, and cultivate tool advocacy within a matrix environment. Initial focus areas include expertise in Material Review platforms (Veeva MedInquiry, VeevaVault, MedDocs, etc.). Responsibilities
Lead the implementation and ongoing maintenance of technologies and platforms that enable business processes and decision making. Establish and maintain the technology roadmap for assigned platforms, leading internal idea generation, external benchmarking, and technical evaluation with support from the ED of Medical Affairs Technology. Collaborate with Medical Affairs and Technology leads to translate business requirements into technical solutions that meet those requirements. Support technology tool maturity by refining processes, delivery templates, and tools with key regional stakeholders. Provide project-level leadership by managing scope, timelines, communication, testing, and risk for the assigned portfolio. Lead technology implementations with aggressive timelines and high impact, reporting status and budget to the Executive Director of Medical Affairs Technology. Act as the primary educator and influencer for assigned platforms, defining new uses to accelerate Medical Affairs outcomes. Balance platform performance, scalability, cost, and data integrity with business needs, advising on solution design during roadmap planning. Establish cross-functional communication channels and governance processes with internal stakeholders. Advise and participate in cross-functional governance, standards, and SOPs for global MA technology tools. Balance long-term vision with short-term delivery to drive business outcomes. Knowledge, Experience and Skills
Bachelor’s degree with 3-5 years in CRM, analytics, or technology modernization; LEAN methodology delivery. Hands-on experience administering and deploying Material Review platforms (Veeva MedInquiry, VeevaVault, MedDocs) preferred. Certifications in Veeva or Business Process Automation are a plus. 2+ years global/pharma/biopharma experience preferred. Experience implementing or upgrading modern technology platforms with AI integration/utilization. Experience in business case development, planning, implementation, operation, and management of digital/mobile initiatives. Strong ability to translate complex ideas into consumable concepts for diverse stakeholders. Excellent communication and change-management skills; ability to build relationships with senior leaders. Highly organized with attention to detail, clarity, accuracy, and conciseness; strong ethical standards. Able to motivate cross-functional collaboration. Location and Employment Type
This is a site-based role in Foster City, CA at our global headquarters. We will also consider candidates at our facility in Raleigh, NC. Remote work is not offered for this position. Salary and Benefits
Salary range (Bay Area): $169,320 – $219,120. Salary range in Raleigh not specified. The company may offer discretionary bonuses, stock-based incentives, paid time off, and a benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance.
