The Manager, Benefits Administration is a strategic leadership role responsible for the global execution and continuous improvement of Nutrien's employee benefits programs. This role ensures benefits systems and processes are compliant, efficient, and aligned with plan and program requirements. The successful candidate will lead enterprise-wide process design, oversee benefit-related projects—including M&A integrations—and deliver measurable improvements in employee experience and operational performance. The position requires strong cross-functional collaboration with Centers of Excellence (COEs), IT, HRIS, Payroll, HR Business Partners, and external vendors. What you will do
Lead and develop a high-performing team of 15 employees managing union and non-union benefits, including health & welfare, retirement, and leave programs. Ensure team readiness through training, performance management, and continuous improvement initiatives. Establish accountability for issue resolution, compliance, and service excellence. Own the configuration and operation of global benefits administration systems (SAP, SuccessFactors, Workforce, EZLabor, ServiceNow, CanadaLife). Drive enterprise-level process design to streamline benefits administration and enhance scalability. Oversee benefits administration across the U.S., Canada, Trinidad, and future global expansions. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and international regulations, plan documents, and vendor contracts. Manage audits, reconciliations, and compliance activities including payroll interfaces, HSA reconciliations, benefit deductions, imputed income, ACA, and retirement plan audits. Champion continuous process improvement to elevate operational efficiency and employee experience. Equip team members to resolve inquiries in alignment with plan documents, CBAs, and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with COEs, IT, HRIS, Payroll, and HRBPs to ensure seamless execution of benefits programs. Partner with COEs to lead annual open enrollment and strategic initiatives, including system requirements and communications. What you will bring
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field (preferred). 8+ years of progressive experience in benefits administration, including 5+ years in a leadership capacity. Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) or equivalent certification (preferred). Proven experience managing global benefits programs and ensuring compliance with international regulations. Demonstrated success in leading benefits transformation initiatives and M&A integrations. Strong proficiency in benefits systems and case management platforms; experience with SAP, SuccessFactors, ServiceNow, and CanadaLife is an asset. Exceptional project management, analytical, and stakeholder engagement skills. Ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization. Compensation & Benefits
The salary range for this role, in Loveland, CO, is between $95,700 - $164,000. While we provide this range as general guidance, several factors are taken into consideration when making compensation decisions including skill set, experience, training, location, and other business needs. Actual salary and benefits may differ based on location. We provide an attractive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision coverage, life insurance, disability coverage for positions >30 hours/week, and a retirement program with generous employer contributions. The package also includes paid vacation, sick days, holidays, paid personal and maternity/parental leaves, and an Employee and Family Assistance Program. Details will be shared in the application process. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for our annual incentive plan, with discretionary payout based on company and individual performance.
