Union Stationary Engineer (Commercial Kitchen Equipment) at CBRE. CBRE is seeking Union Stationary Engineers who manage and maintain commercial kitchen appliances, commercial refrigeration equipment and HVAC systems to keep facilities running smoothly. San Jose, California; Sunnyvale, California; United States of America. What You'll Do
Performs general preventive maintenance and corrective repair of commercial kitchen equipment Performs plumbing, electrical, and/or HVAC requirements of the building(s) Maintains heating equipment, chillers (air and/or water cooled), DX units, pumps, cooling towers, fan coil units, VAV and air distribution systems Monitors and adjusts mechanical/pneumatic equipment, steam stations, control gauges, distributor panels, valves, thermostats, diffusers, and related equipment to provide a comfortable environment Verifies field conditions and performs repairs or adjustments as needed Monitors energy management Repairs doors, ceilings, hand rails, floors, and performs other general property repairs, adjustments and installations Performs repairs to plumbing fixtures (water closets, urinals, flush valve assemblies, lavatories, etc.) Performs preventive maintenance duties per standards, building protocol, manufacturer recommendations and industry best practices (changing filters, cleaning coils, flushing condensers, greasing bearings, inspecting belts, replacing motor bearings, etc.) Inspects engine room equipment, fan room equipment, cooling towers, motors, house pumps, electric rooms, backup generator, fire pump(s), sump pump(s), and ejector pumps Replaces lamps and light fixtures; reinstalls or replaces signage; ensures rooms are clean and free of obstructions Checks emergency exit signs/lights and ensures clear access to emergency exits Conducts fire and life safety inspections as per NFPA and local requirements Documents and reports activities to supervisor Responds immediately to emergency situations (fire, evacuation, equipment failure) and to customer concerns Complies with applicable codes, regulations, governmental agencies, and company directives; practices safe work habits Completes required Safety Training annually Complies with Uniform Dress Code while on property and maintains a neat appearance What You'll Need
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma Minimum of five (5) years of commercial HVAC/R, Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing experience Commercial Kitchen experience required Troubleshooting and Preventative Maintenance experience CFC Universal (EPA) certification preferred Other Skills and/or Abilities
Physical ability to stoop, stand, walk, climb stairs/ladders, and lift/carry heavy loads (50 lbs. or more) Ability to exercise judgment based on analysis of multiple information sources Willingness to adopt new perspectives on existing solutions In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) Strong organizational skills and analytical mindset Solid math skills for financial-related calculations Why CBRE?
