The New Product Development Engineer supports the design, development, and validation of products, materials, processes, and equipment for projects of moderate complexity within the Watchman program. Working under limited supervision, this role involves compiling, analyzing, and reporting operational, test, and research data to establish performance standards for new or modified designs. Key Responsibilities
Participate and contribute to cross-functional project teams involving product design, material testing, specification development, process capability studies, and research investigations (animal and clinical studies). Plan and manage project activities independently to meet established timelines. Design, coordinate, and execute standard engineering tests and experiments. Develop and procure tooling, fixtures, and prototypes to support testing and manufacturing. Troubleshoot new product or process issues related to design, materials, or process performance. Analyze test data and summarize findings to guide design improvements and decision-making. Prepare and maintain comprehensive technical reports and engineering documentation. Generate new product or process concepts and submit idea disclosures as appropriate. Collaborate closely with process development, quality, manufacturing, regulatory, clinical, and marketing teams to ensure project success. Provide training and technical guidance to technicians as needed. Ensure adherence to PDP/TPD system requirements through delivery of high-quality, compliant work. Quality Responsibilities
Incorporate Quality in all aspects of work by maintaining compliance with company and regulatory standards (FDA/ISO). Qualifications
B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related field with 2–4 years of experience,
or M.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related field with 0–2 years of experience. Technical Background:
Strong mechanical and hands-on technical skills required. Preferred Qualifications
Experience in
Catheter Development . Test Method Development
and validation experience. Proven ability to work in “gray space” environments—adapting quickly, learning on the go, and solving ambiguous problems. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Interview Process
Initial video interview via Microsoft Teams with the hiring manager. Final onsite panel interview (1.5–2 hours). Additional Information
