Posting Number: F00293 Position Type: Faculty Division and Department: Division Academic Affairs Department: – Job Summary/Basic Function The Chemistry Department at Dickinson College seeks applicants for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level, starting July 1, 2026, with a specialization in biochemistry, chemical biology, or bioorganic chemistry. Applicants are required to hold a PhD in biochemistry, chemistry, or a closely related field by the July 2026 start date. Applicants who have achieved ABD status are encouraged to apply, as long as their Ph.D. will be conferred before the designated hire date. We are most interested in candidates who can teach biochemistry lecture and lab, organic or general chemistry, and upper-level biochemical electives, as well as provide research experiences for students majoring in Chemistry or Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. Consistent with our grounding in the liberal arts and sciences, candidates with interdisciplinary expertise are particularly desirable. Our faculty teach a five-course load, including courses at all levels of the chemistry curriculum, contribute to the college-wide first-year seminar program, and are expected to establish a vibrant research program that engages our talented undergraduate students. Teaching assignments are based on the needs of the department and the expertise of the faculty. Qualifications
