Wingate’s main campus is located on 500+ acres of beautiful landscape and is only 25 minutes from the Charlotte metropolitan area.**Position Summary:**The Department of Sociology, Criminal Justice, and Human Services seeks applicants for a tenure-track position at the level of either Assistant or Associate Professor.

Applicants should have a Ph.D. in either Sociology or Criminal Justice, and should be prepared to teach a range of required courses in the Criminal Justice curriculum, as well as introductory courses in Sociology.

Candidates who are qualified to teach classes in Forensic Science are especially encouraged to apply.

All candidates should have a strong commitment to teaching undergraduates; experience teaching at the undergraduate level is preferred.**Duties/Responsibilities**:* Teaching load consists of a 4/4 schedule, or 12 credit hours a semester.* Faculty are expected to devote 60% of their time to teaching, and 40% of their time on scholarship and service.* Involvement in University committees as assigned by the Faculty Governance Structure, as well as service to the profession and the department.* Mentoring and advising a diverse population of students.* Regular, predictable attendance on campus.* Alignment with the University's mission, vision, and strategic roadmap.* Other job duties/responsibilities may be assigned.**Minimum Requirements:*** Ph.D. in Sociology or Criminal Justice.

Additional expertise in Forensic Science is preferred.* Teaching experience, especially university-level research methods, is preferred.* Commitment to actively support and advance student perseverance and success.To apply, submit the following: upload a current curriculum vitae (resume section of posting).
