Position Summary
The Department of Pediatrics, Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center School of Medicine in New Orleans, is seeking an academic Pediatric Gastroenterologist specialist to join our faculty group at our satellite location in Lafayette, Louisiana. Academic appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor of Clinical Pediatrics (non-tenure, clinical track) depending on prior experience.
The successful candidate will participate in a broad range of pediatric gastroenterology activities. Primary clinical responsibilities of the position include patient care and consultations at a multidisciplinary clinic that serves the Lafayette/Baton Rouge region. This unique position offers the opportunity to work independently in Lafayette, Louisiana, while being part of a respected academic group in New Orleans.
The Department boasts approximately eighty faculty members representing all pediatric sub-specialties. The section boasts the only ACGME accredited fellowship training program in the state. Clinical programs exist in all areas of Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition including advanced therapeutic endoscopy and liver transplantation. The Division employs ten Pediatric Gastroenterologists and two Nurse Practitioners.

Required Education: MD or equivalent. Completed fellowship in Pediatric Gastroenterology before hire date.
Certifications/Licenses Required: Board certified/board eligible (or equivalent) in Pediatric Gastroenterology. Licensed to practice medicine in Louisiana before start date.
