We are open to hiring candidates to work out of New York, NY, USA. The Amazon Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) organization focuses on building world‑class general‑purpose intelligence services with highly autonomous systems through novel model architectures, learning, and inference strategies. The team works on creating a family of new Generative AI models and applications that are efficient and capable.
As a Security Engineer within the AGI Security team, you will:
Perform threat modeling and ensure adequate security controls are in place for AGI models, applications, and infrastructure.
Influence builders to be better security owners, actively engaging with them to innovate faster and develop scalable mechanisms for upholding the high security bar.
Create and maintain security documentation, including design patterns, implementation guides, and secure software development kits (SDKs).
Simulate Generative AI adversarial attacks against AGI infrastructure.
Contribute to security automation tooling for building new Generative AI detection and tooling capabilities.
Identify actionable and scalable mitigations for identified vulnerabilities, collaborating with AGI product and engineering teams to influence and prioritize their resolution.
Mentor builders who aspire to become security advocates and security engineers via one‑on‑one sessions and office hours.

Basic Qualifications
4+ years of non‑internship background in troubleshooting system issues, analyzing logs, or automating complex tasks using command line tools.
5+ years of work identifying security issues and risks, and developing mitigation plans.
4+ years of non‑internship scripting, programming, and security code review in common programming languages.
Experience in industry‑based security vulnerabilities identification, attack patterns, and remediation techniques.
Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience applying threat modeling or other risk identification techniques.
Experience with security in service‑oriented architectures/microservices and web services.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $143,300/year in the lowest geographic market up to $247,600/year in the highest geographic market. Pay is based on market location and may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. In addition to base pay, equity, sign‑on payments, and other compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, along with a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits.
