The Launch and Missile Defense Systems (LMDS) division within Northrop Grumman Space Systems sector is seeking an experienced Software Engineer. We are excited for you to join our team of qualified and diverse individuals that focuses on healthy culture, transparent leadership, and complex technical challenges. The position is located in Boulder, CO – Boulder is nestled in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, and only 25 miles from downtown Denver. Due to the nature of our work, full-time in-person work is required.
Position Overview
As a Software Engineer or Principal Software Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, development, documentation, testing, deployment, and debugging of software applications. This includes researching, identifying, and implementing solutions to complex, multi-disciplinary software problems.
This requisition may be filled at a higher level based on qualifications listed below. This requisition may be filled at either a Software Engineer or Principal Software Engineer level.
Basic Qualifications (Software Engineer and Principal Software Engineer)
Software Engineer: Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university and 2 years of related experience or a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline.
Principal Software Engineer: Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of related experience, or a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years of experience, or a PhD and 1 year of related work experience.
Linux experience
C++ and Python proficiency
Object Oriented Programming (OOP) experience
Ability and willingness to travel up-to 10% to support business needs (only if needed)
Active in-scope U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at the time of application and ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance
Preferred Qualifications
Containerization tools experience (Kubernetes, OpenShift, Docker products, Podman, etc)
Configuration Management Tools (Git etc.)
CI/CD experience (Jenkins etc.)
Agile development exposure
C++ templating
Primary Level Salary Range: $89,400.00 - $134,200.00
Secondary Level Salary Range: $110,300.00 - $165,500.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; Northrop Grumman considers factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate experience, education, skills, and current market conditions when determining base salary offers. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses may be awarded based on individual contributions and company results. Long Term Incentives may be available for certain VP/Director positions. Northrop Grumman provides benefits including health insurance, life and disability insurance, a savings plan, company-paid holidays, and paid time off.
