Join our team and support the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) as a necessary part of the Defense Information System Network (DISN) services. As a Network Systems Engineer, you'll play a vital role in delivering and maintaining secure, reliable, and uninterrupted communications for the Department of Defense and national security organizations.
We are looking for a motivated individual to work as a
Network Engineer . You will be responsible for the sustainment, maintenance, and management of network services to ensure that our capabilities meet the highest standards. Key Responsibilities: Design, implement, and integrate network changes to support Wide Area Network environments. Conduct analytical research and design development in alignment with customer specifications. Ensure network systems maintain 99% uptime and reliable connectivity. Deliver contract capabilities effectively using industry standards and refined processes. Manage large-scale integrated projects, addressing risk mitigation, cost control, and schedule management. Engage in hardware and software design, implementation, and troubleshooting tasks. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree with 2-4 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with less than 2 years of experience (or a combination of education and experience). Possess a DoD 8750 certification at IAT level II (Security+ CE or equivalent). Proficient in VLAN analysis, IP addressing, routing, and subnetting. Familiar with Palo Alto firewalls, F5 appliances, and Splunk systems. Experience with BGP, ISIS, OSPF, or Static routing troubleshooting and configuration. Knowledge of either service provider or enterprise IP networks, including experience with Cisco (ESR and ASR) and/or Juniper routers. Understanding of network ports and protocols. Active DoD Secret security clearance. Preferred Qualifications: Proficiency in configuring, troubleshooting, and designing using both Cisco and Juniper equipment. Experience with Cisco IOS XR, JUNOS, and Cisco IOS software. Knowledge of scripting languages like Pearl for backup configuration and network information retrieval. Skills in IPSEC and MPLS configuration and troubleshooting. Experience with IPv6 configuration and security measures against DDoS and other network threats. Familiar with Layer 2/3 VPN and Firewall operations. Background in physical cable plant and wiring. Relevant certifications from major network system vendors, especially Cisco. Strong project management, technical, and interpersonal skills. Ability to effectively communicate technical information in writing and verbally. Familiarization with DOD regulations and directives.
