The Central Sterile Processing Technician Adjunct teaches courses in the lecture, laboratory and/or clinical setting. Courses may be taught in an array of teaching modalities: MDC In-Person, MDC Live (Learning Interactively in a Virtual Environment), MDC Online (online delivery) and Blended Classes. What you will be doing
Provides instruction in Central Sterile Processing Technician courses Evaluates and advises students Develops curricula Recruits students Serves on committees Performs other duties as assigned What you need to succeed
Associates degree in a Health Care related field;
or
Associates degree;
or
Certificate in Surgical Technology from a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) accredited program at a regionally accredited institution;
and
Valid Certified Sterile Processing Distribution Technician (CSPDT) from
Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution , Inc. (CBSPD);
or
Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST)from
International Association of Healthcare Central Service
Material Management
(IAHCSMM);
and
Three (3) years of full-time work experience as a CentralService Technician in a sterile processing department. All degrees must be from regionally accredited institutions Must possess excellent communication skills Must be able to work well with students, faculty, staff and the community Must be willing to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends Must be able to travel between campuses, clinical sites and off-campus offering sites Must possess basic computer skills Preferences
