LATERAL RECRUITING COORDINATOR

Moore & Van Allen PLLC, a dynamic and fast-growing full-service law firm of more than 400 attorneys and professionals, is seeking a Lateral Recruiting Coordinator to join its Charlotte, NC office. The Lateral Recruiting Coordinator executes the recruitment process for assigned lateral positions, including candidate sourcing, screening, and coordination with hiring attorneys and candidates. This role maintains strong relationships with stakeholders and oversees the background check process. Additionally, the role serves as the primary liaison for the Discovery group’s contract attorney process, ensuring compliance with firm policies and legal standards.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Lateral Recruiting
Responsible for the recruitment of assigned lateral positions and proactively identifying and engaging opportunistic candidates through multiple channels. Execute comprehensive lateral recruitment plans. Evaluate candidate qualifications and experience, post job advertisements, conduct screening calls, present qualified candidates to hiring attorneys, and coordinate interviews. Oversee the candidate transition process for assigned roles, facilitating clear communication between internal and external stakeholders. Prepare offer letters for review by the Manager of Lateral Recruiting and practice team leader. Track and analyze the progress of lateral recruitment efforts; maintain accurate records of candidate information within the applicant tracking system (ATS). Lead or contribute to special projects related to lateral recruiting. Independently manage responsibilities related to the firm’s lateral referral program. Maintain and verify the accuracy of referral records in accordance with firm policies. Introduce new lateral hires to the referral fee structure and thoughtfully encourage participation, aligning efforts with the firm’s broader recruitment strategy.
Contract Attorney Process
Maintain the contract attorney process for the Discovery group, serving as the primary liaison between the firm and external staffing agencies. Ensure compliance with firm policies, procedures, and applicable legal requirements. Identify opportunities for process improvement and recommend and implement best practices and innovative solutions to enhance efficiency and streamline operations. Stay informed on industry trends and competitive intelligence to ensure the firm remains agile, competitive, and aligned with evolving market standards. Background Checks
Coordinate and evaluate background checks for attorney positions, including interpreting results, identifying and resolving discrepancies in collaboration with candidates and vendors; Preparing pre-adverse and adverse action letters in accordance with firm policy and applicable laws. Maintain a strong relationship with the background check vendor. Ensure timely and accurate invoice processing and monitor overall workflow for consistency and compliance. Serve as a point of escalation for complex or flagged cases, offering guidance and support as needed. Other
Perform other duties as assigned. Regular in-person attendance is required to perform essential functions of this interactive position. Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. An associate’s degree may be acceptable with relevant experience. Minimum of 3 years of previous recruiting experience required. Lateral recruiting experience preferred. Knowledge and experience using applicant tracking system(s) desired.
Physical Requirements:
• The work is primarily sedentary.
• It requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing.
• The work requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
• The work at times requires bending, squatting, and reaching, with the ability to lift, carry, push, or pull light weights.
