The Swim Instructor is responsible for maintaining a safe and engaging swimming class environment for swimmers by teaching age/level appropriate lessons in accordance with the MJCCA Swim Lessons Curriculum, while also enforcing pool/facility rules and protocols.
Essential Functions: Teach private and semi-private swim lessons in accordance with the MJCCA Curriculum. Maintain timeliness with each swim lesson and follow pool schedule closely. Check out lessons in the Pike13 app daily. Send out the Progress Report Cards to parents. Communicate with parents and schedule make-up lessons. Substitute for coworkers as needed. Attend required staff training and meetings. Rescue participants in danger of drowning; administer first-aid/CPR if required. Complete accident reports thoroughly if accidents occur. Perform work on weekends and evenings as needed to meet scheduling needs. Support the emotional and social wellbeing of swim students through positive behavior management and supportive interactions. Follow all emergency procedures at the MJCCA. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Competitive swimming experience preferred. Past coaching/teaching experience required. Current CPR/AED Certification (Adult and Pediatric) required. Current WSI Certification preferred. Ability to swim and teach all four competitive swim strokes. Excellent communication skills. Pay - $16 - $20 per 30 minute lesson
