Job Description Summary
Kids in Motion Academy is seeking a nurturing and dependable
Lead Teacher
for our
Toddler One classroom
(ages 12 – 18 months). This full-time role is ideal for an experienced early childhood professional who understands the developmental needs of young toddlers and can create a calm, engaging, and structured environment. The Lead Teacher will be responsible for implementing a developmentally appropriate curriculum, supporting social-emotional growth, and partnering with families to ensure a smooth and loving daily experience for each child.
Duties
Lead the daily classroom routine for children ages 12–18 months Implement age-appropriate lessons and sensory-based activities Support social-emotional development through nurturing interactions Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom environment Supervise and guide assistant teachers in the classroom Communicate with parents daily through Brightwheel Ensure proper diapering, feeding, and hygiene practices Observe and document developmental milestones Follow licensing regulations, center policies, and health/safety procedures
Requirements
Must be
18 years or older CDA in Infant/Toddler Care
or higher (TCC, Associate’s, or Bachelor's preferred) Minimum
1 year of experience
working with children under 2 years old in a licensed child care setting Must pass a
DECAL fingerprint background check
and health screening CPR and First Aid certified
(or willing to obtain before start date) Strong understanding of toddler development and positive behavior guidance Ability to lift 30–40 lbs, sit on the floor, and engage in active play Reliable, professional, and committed to maintaining a safe, loving classroom Comfortable using Brightwheel or willing to learn
Nice To Haves
Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree
in Early Childhood Education or related field Experience leading a toddler classroom independently Familiarity with
Brightwheel
or similar classroom management/parent communication tools Knowledge of
Quality Rated
standards and GELDS (Georgia Early Learning and Development Standards) Bilingual (Spanish, French, or ASL) Training in
Conscious Discipline , Love and Logic, or similar positive guidance approaches Experience working in inclusive classrooms or with children with developmental delays
