THE POSITION

Sr Staff Software Engineer, Continental Automotive Systems, Inc. (d/b/a AUMOVIO), Auburn Hills, MI:

Mentorship and training of software development team in AUTOSAR (Automotive open system architecture), microcontroller theory and general programming. Root-cause analysis and corrective action planning support in customer projects for software in ACUs (Airbag Control Units), ADCUs (Assisted and Automated Driving Control Units) and EBS (Electronic Brake Systems). Development of automotive software (C/C++) according to customer requirements and tools (Python, VBA, Java) in support of design, infrastructure, and technology platforms, including operating systems, compilers, and utilities. Software test implementation and execution for requirement verification according to the V-model development process (unit testing, integration testing, system testing and acceptance testing). Debugging and troubleshooting of software based on test results. Utilization of test systems such as Software-in-the-Loop (SiL) and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HiL), as well as testing equipment and software tools (Lauterbach TRACE32 debugger, Vector CANoe, Vector CANalyzer). Creation and analysis of software requirements using requirement management tools such as IBM DOORS, IBM Jazz and MKS Integrity. Development and maintenance of architecture documents and detailed software designs using IBM Rhapsody, UML (Unified Modeling Language). Software project management support for Agile (SCRUM or Kanban). Planning of project timelines, deliverables, and resource allocations to ensure successful project completion according to international standard ISO 26262. On-site or remote technical support for internal and external customers on software-related topics for ACUs, CCUs (Central Control Units) and EBS.

Telecommuting permitted up to 4 days per month.

Full time employment, Monday

Friday, 40 hours per week.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, Electronic Engineering or a related field and 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate work experience.

Of the required experience, must have 5 years of experience in each of the following:

Automotive embedded software development (C or C++); Automotive software architecture (AUTOSAR); and Automotive software project planning for Electronic Control Units (ECUs).

Of the required experience, must have 3 years of experience in each of the following:

Agile software development methodologies (SCRUM or Kanban); 8-32 bit microcontrollers (NXP, Infineon Technologies, or Renesas); and Automotive communication protocols (CAN, LIN, Ethernet, or Flexray).
