POSITION SUMMARY The Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Infectious Diseases and International Medicine, is pleased to announce a faculty position as a non‑tenure track Infectious Diseases Clinician Educator at Morsani College of Medicine (MCOM). The clinician will provide inpatient infectious diseases consultation to adult patients, primarily at Tampa General Hospital or the Department of Health HIV clinic. The appointment is for the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. An Associate Professor appointment requires a minimum of five years of continuing and productive service as an Assistant/Associate Professor, or equivalent.
RESPONSIBILITIES
See patients and provide quality clinical care, primarily at Tampa General Hospital for inpatient services and outpatient clinic services; assignments may also be at Moffitt Cancer Center or other USF affiliated sites.
Teach bedside rounds for medical students, residents, and fellows during the ID service rounds.
Serve as a member of the department’s administrative team, reporting to chair or other appropriate higher‑level administrator of a state university.
Engage in teaching, research, service, and related administrative activities.
Provide academic advising and related activities.
Represent the university, college/school, or department as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
Medical degree from an accredited institution or the highest degree appropriate in the field of specialization with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, academic research, and service.
Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor. For Associate/Full Professor, must have produced creative work, professional writing or research in refereed and other professional journals, and be a recognized authority in the field of specialization.
Must hold or be eligible for a full, unrestricted Florida Medical License or foreign equivalent.
Candidate must obtain and maintain a full unrestricted FL Medical License, maintain credentials in the USF Health faculty practice plan, and be a medical staff member in good standing at the hospitals to which they are assigned.
Must be Board‑certified or eligible in Internal Medicine and Infectious Disease.
