A Trust Officer is a banking professional who services trusts and investments. This is a relationship-based role, where customers can span generations. This role can service private and corporate trust accounts. Trust Officer Qualifications : Bachelor’s degree or equivalent JD and/or Master’s degree 5-7 years of relevant trust administration experience Strong team player who enjoys collaboration with internal partners Certifications such as CTFA, CFP, CFA, CES, or equivalent Knowledge and/or experience in trust investments, brokerage, or delivery of trust services through alternative channels Trust Officer Responsibilities : Service trust accounts, including ongoing reviews, discretionary distributions, and relationship building with advisors, clients, and attorneys. Research legal issues and interpret governing documents like Wills, Trusts, Codicils, Amendments, FLP, Contracts, etc. Participate in Trust Administrative Sub-Committee meetings. Perform annual administrative account reviews. Manage existing account servicing and retention. Oversee new account establishment and funding. Coordinate estate settlement processes with advisors, attorneys, accountants, and family members, including reviewing documents, final expenses, tax returns, and distributions. Prepare trust tax returns and agency letters, address related issues, and review returns for administered accounts. Lead or participate in projects such as IRA development, system conversions, and process improvements. This position offers an excellent compensation and benefits package.
