Associate Specialist, National Sales Support, Wealth Management
The Wealth Management business unit of Northern Trust seeks an Associate Specialist to join the National Sales practice. The role supports the growth of our business by engaging with sales leads, responding to RFPs from nonprofit and wealth‑management prospects, conducting research on prospective clients, and contributing to projects that enhance the sales process.
The successful candidate will possess strong communication and project‑management skills and will thrive in a dynamic, cross‑disciplinary team environment.
The Key Responsibilities Of The Role Include
Sales Lead Outreach: Coordinate outreach efforts to sales leads generated by marketing. Initiate contact, follow up per specified cadence, customize messaging, track activity, and hand off engaged prospects to front‑line sales professionals.
RFP Writing: Partner with sales team members to create tailored responses to RFPs that differentiate Northern Trust’s value proposition for wealth management, investment, trust, and banking services. Engage subject‑matter experts to convey relevant information and maintain proposal databases.
Prospect Research: Compile detailed research profiles on prospective Wealth Management clients using a variety of research tools and resources to help front‑line sales team members understand potential needs and connection points.
Fee Proposal Guidance: Develop a detailed understanding of Northern Trust’s fee schedules and assist sales team members in applying fee schedules and preparing proposals to communicate Wealth Management services and pricing.
Special Projects: Participate in projects that support, improve, and analyze our sales efforts, including application implementation, ad‑hoc reporting, and process improvement initiatives.
The Successful Candidate Will Benefit From Having
Strong communication and writing skills
High attention to detail
Ability to coordinate multiple workflows
Interest in a sales/sales support career path
Knowledge of, or interest in, wealth and investment management principles; custody, trust, and other banking services
Undergraduate degree (or equivalent experience); an advanced degree or industry certification is desirable but not required
3–7 years in financial services or sales support; marketing or writing experience also considered
Experience with Salesforce and Microsoft applications
Salary Range $95,600 – 162,400 USD
Salary range is a good faith estimate of base pay. Differential bonus programs, including an equity component, may also apply.
