Job Summary The CT Technologist performs technical duties under the direction of the Manager, Lead CT Tech and/or Medical Director of Radiology and obtains quality diagnostic examinations while maintaining superior patient care and providing excellent customer service to patients, family, and all hospital staff. The CT technologist must be able to prioritize work and duties well and must work well in stressful situations. They have to demonstrate good communication and customer service skills with a variety of patients, physicians, and other health care providers both internal and external to the organization and must make accurate clinical decisions and judgments quickly. They must demonstrate proficiency in all CT examinations and procedures.

What you will do in this role

Obtain quality diagnostic images according to protocol

Ensure all exam orders have the required 5 elements

Verify order validity in RIS, ensure ordering physician is correct, complete exams with accurate information, document pertinent information

Follow all radiation protection and dose reporting policies and processes

Maintain orderly and safe work area

Maintain departmental compliance logs

Scan in and label documents appropriately in PACS, resolve QA issues in a timely manner, ensure images are released to radiologists promptly

Participate in departmental accreditation processes and QA

Ensure venipuncture is performed following all infection control processes and medication is administered to appropriate patients

Participate in performance improvement processes

Transport patients as necessary

Effectively manage problems and resolve conflict in a professional manner

Adhere to the direct supervision of the Radiology Department Director

Demonstrate competency in performance of technical skills

Effectively interject with discrepancies and/or impaired job performance to facilitate improvement and resolution

Assume personal accountability for work time

Perform other duties as assigned

Practice and adhere to the "Code of Conduct" and "Mission and Value Statement"

Qualifications you will need

At least one year of CT experience in an acute care hospital setting preferred

Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

(ARRT-CT) Computed Tomography

(ARRT-R) Radiography

(RT) Radiologic Technologist/Radiographer

Associate Degree, or Certificate
