Perform as lead Responsible Engineer on a variety of projects. Perform tasks related to high energy piping such as pipe stress analysis, material selection, develop weld procedures, and perform root cause analysis for high energy piping failures. Develop and present detailed design models using AutoCAD Plant 3D, Inventor, SolidWorks, Revit, and/or Navisworks. Review drawing package preparation and review using AutoCAD, Plant 3D, and MicroStation. Develop and modify P&IDs, equipment layout, piping plans/details, pipe support details, isometrics, and bills of materials. Utilize laser scanning technology with Plant 3D, Navisworks, and Recap; perform site walkdowns and collect field information, equipment data, and on-site laser scans. Peer-check packages developed by other design team members and provide direction and mentoring to design members and drafters. Qualifications & Skills
Required: BSME and PE license (TN, GA, AL preferred). Preferred: Minimum of eight (8) years of progressive experience in piping and plant design. Required: Pipe stress analysis experience using AutoPipe or Caesar. Required: SME knowledge of pumps, valves, and heat exchangers. Preferred: Knowledge of welding and weld repairs. Required: Working knowledge of industry codes and standards including ASME B31.1, ASME B31.3, NFPA, ANSI, and API. Educational / Experience / Licensure
Required: PE license (Professional Engineer). Required: BSME degree. Experience: 8 years in piping and plant design (preferred). Experience: Pipe stress analysis using AutoPipe or Caesar. Experience: Working knowledge of ASME B31.1, B31.3, NFPA, ANSI, API. Preferred: Knowledge of welding and weld repairs. Location and Travel
Travel to support projects is required; typically less than 10% overnight but depends on project needs. Location: Remote in the southeast; Atlanta, Birmingham, Chattanooga, Memphis, Nashville, Huntsville.
