Overview
Assembler Tester - 1st Shift at Parker Hannifin. Non-Exempt position. Based on Parker Aerospace offerings and the team’s mission to enable engineering breakthroughs and innovative solutions in aviation.
Responsibilities
- Accurately and efficiently assemble/test a variety of moderately complex products to meet customer quality and on-time delivery schedules.
- May perform lockwiring, first-stage subassembly, and final detailing functions on products with mechanical components, hydraulic systems, and multiple part numbers.
- Contribute to lean initiatives to increase productivity and reduce costs; operate under general supervisory guidance.
- Perform assembly/test functions using mechanical and electronic tools, test equipment, fixtures, and inspection measuring devices.
- Record test results on data forms, may use X–Y recorders, oscilloscopes, transducers, and related equipment.
- Identify malfunctions from test data and rework as instructed; interpret blueprints, orders, test specs, service bullets, customer requirements, and quality directives.
- Produce and inspect assemblies that conform to product specifications; assemble, test, and/or solder to applicable standards.
- Perform touch-up or full surface painting of parts with finishing materials as required.
- Actively participate in lean initiatives by identifying improvement opportunities.
Qualifications
- Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required. Two or more years aerospace industry related experience in assembly/test in a manufacturing environment or relevant mechanical experience.
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Ability to read and interpret blueprints, route sheets, test specifications; proficient in basic math; effective verbal, written, and computer skills; strong mechanical reasoning; teamwork and interpersonal communication; ability to use standard business software and self-service systems.
- Ability to implement and apply lean initiatives; may require soldering certification per customer requirements.
- Possess ability to select appropriate procedures, techniques, tools, and equipment; interpret reports; operate with a team-oriented approach.
Typical Mental and Physical Demands
- Walk, stand, and sit for extended periods; manual dexterity to operate machinery; close vision requirements; regular attendance; ability to work cooperatively with others.
