Role Overview The CFO will serve as a strategic partner to the CEO and Board of Directors, leading all aspects of financial operations and shaping the organization’s long‑term financial strategy. This executive will oversee controllership, FP&A, tax, and treasury, while driving operational excellence and capital efficiency across the business. The CFO will lead the annual budgeting process, oversee expenses throughout the year, and play a central role in advancing growth both through organic and inorganic initiatives. By ensuring financial health, guiding investment decisions, and delivering strategic insights, the CFO will be instrumental in driving sustainable growth and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
Team and Function Development
Shape and build a top‑notch team across all finance functional areas
Conduct a thorough review of processes and controls and lead the team through implementing best practices
Ensure a strong financial model, budgeting and forecasting process is in place across the company
Execute strong financial management processes and systems, ensuring data integrity in commercial and financial data
Create a business finance partner function that helps ensure ongoing collaboration and budget management across the organization
Develop and distribute monthly and quarterly KPI and financial reporting to inform the ELT on business performance and uncover key areas of focus
Financial Operations
Oversee accounting, compliance, and reporting functions, ensuring timely and accurate close cycles
Manage cash flow, collections, and working capital to support global operations
Optimize systems (NetSuite, Blackline, Avalara) to support the business and integrity of company financial reporting
Commercial Enablement
Support pricing strategy, renewals, contract structuring and collections for SaaS and SCADA/EMS offerings
Collaborate with Product, Delivery, and Legal teams to streamline quote‑to‑cash processes
Participate in the Information Security Steering Committee (ISSC) to align financial risk with cybersecurity posture
Strategic Leadership
Lead both short‑term (budget process) and long‑term (projections) financial planning
Lead scenario planning and budgeting aligned with SaaS growth metrics and ARR targets
Serve as a key leader of the ELT, contributing to corporate strategy, organic and inorganic growth opportunities, and long‑term planning
Partner with the CEO and Board to shape financial vision and investment priorities
Debt and Equity Management
Manage debt covenants and banking relationships to ensure compliance with covenants and information delivery on a timely basis
Own and deliver all necessary reporting to investors and financiers of the business, including monthly financial reviews
Along with the CEO and Chief Strategy Officer, serve as a primary interface to the investor group
Qualifications
Proven capability to build a world‑class finance function across the controllership, FP&A, tax, and treasury
Deep experience working with a diverse set of partners across private equity and lenders
International experience – both from a business and team perspective – is a must
Company experiences spanning integrated solutions – hardware, software and services
Energy experience highly desired
Candidates with diverse experience managing extended functions of legal and HR will be prioritized
Demonstrated knowledge of systems implementation and integration for financial data integrity
Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills
Must have CPA and MBA preferred
