Overview

Software Quality Assurance (SQA) Specialist / Applications Tester at Redhorse Corporation. The organization provides data insights and technology solutions for national interests. The role focuses on validating usability, functionality, and security of mission-critical applications and serving as the Point-of-Contact (POC) for the end-user community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Testing and Validation: Develop and direct procedures, programming, and documentation for software system testing and validation, including unit and functional tests; document test procedures to ensure replicability and compliance.
  • Provide feedback and recommendations to Sponsor's developers on usability and functionality.
  • User Support and Liaison: Act as central POC between Users, Stakeholders, and Sponsor; resolve issues; determine causes of user issues and document solutions; monitor incidents, problems, inquiries, and change and service requests.
  • Build sustainable relationships of trust through timely, open, and interactive communication.
  • Requirements and Outreach: Elicit new features, workflows, and functionality; write or contribute to user instructions and training materials; advertise features and capabilities of the applications.
  • Compliance and Documentation: Ensure each new application or system enhancement meets agreed-upon performance and security SLAs; comply with the Sponsor's Risk Management and architectural/authorization processes.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 4+ years of professional experience in SQA, functional testing, and/or application support
  • Clearance: Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph (or equivalent Sponsor clearance)
  • Testing Expertise: Demonstrated experience testing Single-Page Applications (SPAs) and performing UI tests and reporting test results
  • Documentation & Tracking: Demonstrated experience documenting testing procedures and testing results and working with developers to track new features and report failed tests
  • Customer Interface: Demonstrated experience being the Point-of-Contact (POC) for Users needing help or assistance with applications and building rapport with a diverse user base
  • Feature Advocacy: Demonstrated experience advertising features/capabilities of the applications
  • Requirements Elicitation: Demonstrated experience working with Users and Stakeholders to elicit new features, workflows, and functionality
  • Agile Tooling: Demonstrated experience using JIRA
  • Teamwork: Demonstrated experience working on multi-disciplinary application development teams

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Demonstrated experience with Sponsor's cyber operations mission applications
  • Demonstrated experience with Sponsor's cyber operations user and training requirements
  • Demonstrated experience with facilitating outreach, training, or brownbag sessions to discuss technical features of applications or digital tools
