Role Associate Attorney (Defense) - PAGA/Wage & Hour Class Action

Position Overview We are seeking a highly motivated
Associate or Senior Counsel
with
3–7+ years of experience
in
wage and hour litigation , specifically defending
class action and PAGA claims
in both state and federal courts. The ideal candidate will have a strong litigation background, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to manage cases independently while collaborating with a dynamic team of attorneys.
Key Responsibilities
Defend wage and hour class and PAGA actions in state and federal court.
Conduct document and data reviews related to wage and hour claims.
Prepare case evaluations and strategic recommendations for clients.
Draft and respond to discovery requests in class/PAGA matters.
Conduct and defend depositions of plaintiffs, witnesses, and corporate representatives.
Handle law and motion work, including motions to compel arbitration, dispositive motions, and discovery-related motions.
Prepare for and participate in mediations, including drafting mediation briefs and evaluating settlement strategies.
Attend and argue at court hearings, case management conferences, and dispositive motion hearings.
Participate in arbitration and/or trial preparation and proceedings.
Conduct thorough legal research and draft high-quality memoranda, briefs, and pleadings.
Qualifications
Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
Active membership in good standing with the
California State Bar
(required).
3–7+ years
of relevant experience in
wage and hour class/PAGA defense litigation .
Proven ability to manage cases and client communications effectively.
Exceptional research, writing, and analytical skills.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Experience in arbitration and/or trial strongly preferred.
