Our client, a Houston-based law firm, is seeking an experienced Bankruptcy Attorney to join their team. This role will focus on representing clients in complex bankruptcy and restructuring matters while providing strategic counsel to protect assets, resolve disputes, and guide clients through financial challenges. Key Responsibilities

Case Strategy & Representation: Represent clients in Chapter 7, Chapter 11, and Chapter 13 proceedings, adversary litigation, and creditor / debtor disputes. Develop tailored case strategies. Court Appearances & Advocacy: Appear in U.S. Bankruptcy Courts and related proceedings, including hearings, mediations, and creditor meetings. Document Drafting & Filing: Draft and file bankruptcy petitions, schedules, reorganization plans, motions, and related pleadings in compliance with applicable rules. Creditor & Debtor Counseling: Advise clients on debt restructuring, asset protection, liquidation, and reorganization strategies. Negotiate settlements, repayment plans, and agreements. Business & Financial Analysis: Evaluate financials, contracts, and obligations to identify risks and develop restructuring options. Collaborate with accountants and financial advisors when needed. Regulatory & Compliance Oversight: Ensure compliance with the U.S. Bankruptcy Code, local rules, and relevant regulations. Client Relations: Maintain clear and responsive communication with clients throughout proceedings. Qualifications

Education & Bar Admission: J.D. from an accredited law school; active license to practice law in Texas (good standing required). Experience: 3–7 years of bankruptcy law experience, ideally including Chapter 11 business reorganizations, creditor’s rights, and adversary litigation. Technical Skills: Proficiency with legal research platforms (LexisNexis, Westlaw) and bankruptcy e-filing systems; strong drafting, negotiation, and litigation skills. Professional Attributes: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with financial acumen and keen attention to detail. Teamwork & Independence: Ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment while independently managing caseloads.
