Anduril Industries is a defense technology company with a mission to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology. By bringing the expertise, technology, and business model of the 21st century’s most innovative companies to the defense industry, Anduril is changing how military systems are designed, built and sold. Anduril’s family of systems is powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system that turns thousands of data streams into a real‑time, 3D command and control center. As the world enters an era of strategic competition, Anduril is committed to bringing cutting‑edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology to the military in months, not years.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Architect and rapidly develop robust battery management system (BMS) algorithms, to be applied across different programs and product lines across Anduril

Algorithms to include battery state handling, enable/disable switch (ie. contactor or FET) control, cell balancing, state-of-charge (SOC) estimation, state-of-health (SOH), state-of-power (SOP) power limits, fault handling, isolation monitoring, high‑voltage interlock loop (HVIL), etc

Develop model‑based design platform for BMS algorithms across Anduril using Matlab tools like Simulink and Simulink Test to enable accelerated development and verification cycles

Collaborate with battery systems engineers to translate battery system‑level requirements to actionable BMS/algorithm requirements

Based on BMS/algorithm requirements – define robust and pragmatic test procedures to be executed iteratively at the model‑in‑loop (MIL), software‑in‑loop (SIL), and hardware‑in‑loop (HIL) levels

Leverage automation tools in SIL, MIL, and HIL test environments over time to improve efficiency of algorithm development and deployment

Leverage Simulink‑to‑C auto code generation to rapidly transition from functional algorithms to complied artifacts for deployment

Support FW engineers by reviewing, documenting, and debugging generated C code

Collaborate with battery test engineers and systems engineers to characterize battery cell equivalent circuit models and deploy them to BMS SW algorithms, where applicable

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering or Computer Science with applied expertise/focus on battery management systems

Demonstrated deployment of robust battery management system software or firmware to a multi‑cell battery module or pack using Matlab/Simulink

Demonstrated proficiency/utilization of C code – which will be required to review, edit, debug, and document generated C code, to support integration into existing Anduril C code ecosystem

Experience in BMS HW/SW validation methods – including software‑in‑the‑loop (SIL/SITL), model‑in‑the‑loop (MIL/MITL), and hardware‑in‑the‑loop (HIL/HITL) testing

Experience in cell equivalent circuit model (ECM) development and deployment to battery management systems

Experience in battery characterization methods: mission profile validation, equivalent‑circuit model characterization, cycle/calendar life assessment, safety features, etc.

Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Graduate Degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering or Computer Science with applied focus on battery management systems

Familiarity with common electrochemical energy storage materials, technologies, and boundaries of operation

Demonstrated experience in battery testing, modeling, controls, and module/pack integration/operation
