This high-impact role is ideal for a seasoned media relations professional with deep experience in the technology sector — ideally from a hyperscaler, enterprise tech firm, or leading communications agency — who understands what makes news and how to shape it.**About the Role**As Global Media Relations Manager, you will be the architect of SLB’s global media strategy, responsible for identifying, shaping, and amplifying stories that position SLB as a leader in energy innovation, digital transformation, and the energy transition. You will work closely with senior executives, product and innovation teams, and regional communicators to craft compelling narratives that resonate with business, trade, and top-tier technology media.This role requires a sharp editorial instinct, a deep understanding of the media landscape, and the ability to translate complex technical content into stories that drive headlines and influence.**Key Responsibilities*** Develop and execute a global media relations strategy that aligns with SLB’s business priorities and innovation agenda.* Cultivate and manage relationships with influential journalists and editors across global business, energy, and technology media.* Lead proactive media outreach, executive visibility, and rapid response efforts — including issues management and crisis communications.* Identify and package newsworthy stories from across SLB’s global operations, with a focus on digital and technical innovation.* Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align messaging across earned, owned, and social media channels.* Partner with executive communications, brand, and regional teams to maintain a unified editorial calendar and messaging framework.* Provide media training and strategic counsel to senior leaders and subject matter experts.* Monitor media coverage and continuously optimize media engagement strategies using tools including Talkwalker and Muck Rack.**What We’re Looking For*** Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or related field.* 10+ years of experience in media relations, corporate communications, or journalism —preferably in a global, innovation-driven environment.* Proven success in securing high-impact media coverage in top-tier business and tech outlets.* Experience working in or with hyperscaler companies or high-growth enterprise tech firms.* Exceptional writing and storytelling skills, with fluency in English and AP Style.* Ability to synthesize complex technical and business information into compelling narratives.* Experience working directly with C-level executives and managing executive visibility programs.* Executive presence, strategic thinking, and the ability to influence across functions and cultures.* Strong project management skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, matrix organization.With a global footprint in more than 100 countries and employees representing almost twice as many nationalities, we work each day on innovating oil and gas, delivering digital at scale, decarbonizing industries, and developing and scaling new energy systems that accelerate the energy transition.
