Measures, analyzes and calibrates equipment on small to medium platforms/projects/systems. Ensures that systems perform accordingly to meet production quality. Documents test results and maintains records.**Key Responsibilities*** **Test Planning & Execution**

+ Develop and execute test plans, procedures, and scripts to validate product hardware against functional and compliance requirements.

+ Perform system-level, environmental, and reliability tests following UL, ULC, EN, and other regulatory standards.

+ Operate test equipment such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, network analyzers, and environmental chambers.* **Data Analysis & Reporting**

+ Collect, analyze, and interpret test results to identify performance trends, anomalies, and root causes.

+ Prepare clear and detailed documentation, including test reports, deviation logs, and compliance evidence for agency submissions.* **Troubleshooting & Problem Solving**

+ Work closely with design engineering to investigate and resolve hardware failures.

+ Recommend design or process improvements based on test outcomes.* **Collaboration & Leadership**

+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design, quality, and compliance to support project deliverables.

+ Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and lab technicians.

+ Contribute to lab best practices, 5S/TPM, and continuous improvement initiatives.* **Test Automation & Process Improvement**

+ Develop and maintain automated test solutions for hardware validation.

+ Improve efficiency of test setups, data collection, and reporting through scripting and lab automation tools.**Basic Qualifications*** High School Diploma* 3+ years of experience in hardware testing, product validation, or compliance engineering preferably in a lab environment.**Preferred Qualifications*** Proficiency with test instrumentation (oscilloscopes, power analyzers, RF test equipment, etc.).* Familiarity with regulatory and compliance standards (UL 864, ULC-S527, EN 61000 series, etc.).* Experience with data analysis tools (Excel, MATLAB, LabVIEW, Python, or similar).* Hands-on experience with test automation and scripting is a strong plus.* Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.* Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.* Team-oriented with a mindset for mentoring and collaboration.* Experience in the fire alarm, life-safety, or related safety-critical industries.* Knowledge of EMC/EMI, ESD, and environmental testing standards.* Prior experience preparing documentation for certification agencies.* Familiarity with hardware design fundamentals (schematics, PCB layouts, etc.).**What You Will Gain*** Health Coverage: Choose from three medical plans, dental, and vision options* Financial Protection: Health Savings Accounts (HSA), Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA), Life, AD&D, and Disability Insurance* Paid Time Off: Vacation, sick days, company holidays, and various leave options (parental, FMLA, etc)* Employee Support: EAP, adoption/surrogacy assistance, additional voluntary health benefits* Retirement: 401(k) plan with employer match**Compensation and Benefits:**The base salary range for this role is $83,300.00 – $98,000.00. Individuals may also be eligible for an annual performance bonus based on both individual and company’s performance. The final compensation for this position will be set based on the individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience as it relates to the job requirements.
